All the films I watched in 2012
It’s time for the annual Movie List!! This is every film I watched in 2012 (plus, for the first time, TV series at the end!). Asterisk means a rewatch, and the number in parentheses is the release date. Here is last year’s list, for the sake of comparison.
01 - Bring It On (00)- spending the day watching (more or less) bad movies is a New Year’s Day tradition! The best part of this was the pop-up video style commentary, which seemed to centre on the kid who played Kirsten Dunst’s little bro?
02 - Teen Wolf (85)
03 - State of Play (09)
04 - * Star Trek: Insurrection (98)
05 - Win Win (11) - I really enjoyed this movie about high school wrestling (??!)
06 - Metropolis (27)
07 - Centre Stage (00) - what you want to do is see this movie on a bus full of girls who were teens when it came out. THAT’s what you want.
08 - * Zoolander (01) - OMG gasfight, OMG
09 - One Day (11) - travels through time as we all do - in a mostly linear, forward motion?
10 - * The Rules of Attraction (02) - I find this movie comforting and distressing in almost equal measure.
I sometimes do loose year-end lists, but I haven’t kept a strict media journal since they required one for my World Cinema class in college, but after seeing Emily and Ryan post their lists for a few years I think I’m going to give it a try.
